Buena Onda is a nonprofit based in Punta Colonet, Mexico dedicated to providing meals and education to local children. I was brought on to this project after connecting with founder Chad Furlong at an event hosted by Sur Coffee, a sponsor of the organization. Chad came to me with a clear and meaningful brief: create a single color graphic that captured the heart of the organization by incorporating their new bus, their branded storage crate, and one of the children they serve. Making it monochromatic is a practical constraint to minimize printing costs. Working within that single color limitation pushed me to lean into bold line work and thoughtful composition, ensuring each element read clearly while working together as a unified image. Beyond the design itself, I was also involved in the screen printing process, seeing the project through from concept to finished garment.
