Killer Dana Surf Shop has been a cornerstone of Dana Point's surf culture for 35 years, and to mark the occasion, they commissioned a commemorative graphic worthy of that legacy. The shop itself is named after a legendary wave that once broke in front of the bluffs overlooking the harbor. This wave no longer exists, making it a piece of living history worth honoring. The concept I developed places the viewer deep inside the barrel of that iconic wave on a classic longboard, looking out toward the pier that still stands at the end of the point. Every element was drawn entirely by hand, deliberately echoing the craftsmanship of early surfboard shaper logos. It's my ode to an era when surf graphics were labored over with the same care and intention as the boards themselves. The result is a design built to live across tees, stickers, and merchandise while functioning as a genuine piece of surf art as well as a tribute to a wave, a community, and 35 years of keeping that stoke alive.
